Golden light, blooming trees, and a quiet kind of magic.
There’s a softness that settles over everything in the early evening — the light turns golden, the world slows down a little, and everything feels a touch more peaceful. That was exactly the mood during this cherry blossom session with Ute and her two daughters in the Niagara Region.
The blossoms were in full bloom — soft pinks swaying in the breeze — and the girls moved through them like it was their own secret garden. Ute has such a grounded, calm presence, and it was beautiful to watch her simply be with her daughters, laughing, hugging, and just enjoying this fleeting season together.
What I loved most about this session was the rhythm of it. Nothing rushed, nothing forced. Just the three of them, soaking in the light, wrapped up in their connection. Evening shoots always bring a different energy — quieter, more reflective — and this one was no exception.
Photographing mothers and daughters always hits me a little differently. There’s something powerful in capturing that bond as it evolves over time. These are the kinds of images that will only grow more meaningful with the years.
Ute, thank you for trusting me to document your story during one of the most beautiful times of year in Niagara. It was such an honour to witness your love and connection, and to create something timeless together.
