Soft light, spring blooms, and a whole lot of love.
There’s something undeniably magical about photographing families in the evening — when the light is golden, the air feels calm, and everything slows down just a little. That was exactly the energy during my session with Wes, Chatchalin, and their beautiful family under the cherry blossoms.
We met in the Niagara Region just as the sun was beginning to dip, casting a warm glow through the trees. The blossoms were at their peak, creating the dreamiest backdrop, but what really stood out wasn’t the setting — it was the connection between this family.
Wes and Chatchalin are so clearly grounded in their love — you can feel it in the way they move together, the way they laugh with their kids, and the quiet ease that flows between them. Their children brought so much energy and joy to the session — exploring, and sharing those spontaneous, unfiltered moments that make family photos so meaningful.
As the light faded, the whole session took on this calm, almost cinematic feeling. Those last few frames — when everyone’s a little more relaxed, the light is soft, and you forget the camera is even there — are always my favourite.
To Wes & Chatchalin — thank you for letting me capture your family in this season of life. These images are full of heart, and I hope they serve as a reminder of just how beautiful your everyday love truly is.
